Galaxy S22 Ultra
Galaxy S22 Ultra was the first Galaxy S phone with a built-in S Pen, and pairs it with a 108MP camera, 10x optical zoom and a 6.8-inch QHD+ display. A 2024 update added Galaxy AI.

Design
A polished Armor Aluminum frame wraps the squared-off body, Gorilla Glass Victus+ covers the front and back, and the cameras sit in a line behind mirrored rings. The S Pen slides out of the bottom.
S Pen
Samsung says the S Pen has 70% lower latency than on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, so writing and sketching feel natural, and Samsung Notes turns handwriting into text. Air Actions control the phone from across the room, and the pen charges in its slot.
Cameras
Four rear cameras, each with its own field of view. Pick one to see how much of a scene it takes in. These are Samsung's photos of one field from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, at the same fields of view as the S22 Ultra's cameras; the S22 Ultra's own shots will differ in detail.

Space Zoom
Past 10x, Space Zoom carries on digitally to 100x. These are Samsung's own S22 Ultra zoom samples from one greenhouse: the whole path, then closer views.
Nightography
In low light the 108MP sensor groups nine pixels into one 2.4μm pixel, and Super Clear Glass cuts lens flare. Video adjusts its frame rate to the light, and Super Night Solution cleans up each frame.
Samsung's night portrait sample: at under 13 lux, Portrait mode runs its night processing automatically.
Video
Samsung says the stabilisation corrects shake over a 58% wider angle than on the Galaxy S21 series, with faster motion sampling. The S22 Ultra also records 8K, and can pull 33MP stills from it.
108MP
Samsung says Adaptive Pixel switches between a 108MP high-resolution mode and a brighter 12MP mode to suit the light, or shoots both and merges them. Detail Enhancer adds depth in High Resolution mode.
Galaxy AI
Samsung says the One UI 6.1 update in 2024 brought Galaxy AI to the S22 series, including Circle to Search, Note Assist and Generative Edit, and the S Pen works with it. Pick a feature to see Samsung's demo, filmed on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Galaxy AI needs a Samsung Account, and some features need an internet connection.

Display and performance
The 6.8-inch QHD+ Edge display adapts from 1 to 120Hz and peaks at 1,750 nits, with Vision Booster for sunlight. Samsung says the S22 series was the first Galaxy S with a 4nm processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200, depending on the market.

Battery and charging
